Bentley unveiled an updated version of its "Winged B" emblem on Tuesday. This is only the fifth time Bentley has redesigned this element since the company was founded. The updated emblem will be unveiled publicly on 8 July on the new future vision concept car. This car will also demonstrate a new design language for future Bentley vehicles.

Here's What We Know

The design of the new 'Winged B' emblem was developed by Robin Page with the support of a small internal team. Initially, a competition was held to allow the entire design team to submit their ideas in the form of sketches. Yang Nam's version, a member of the interior design team, won. His concept was then refined and detailed in the final iteration.

The mission in designing the new emblem was to capture the distinctive details from previous designs - such as the diamond pattern inside the wings and the central B jewel - but create a more modern and progressive look.

The shape of the new wings itself is sharper and more dramatic than the previous iteration - more reminiscent of the angular wings of the peregrine falcon bird of prey. The lower feathers below the letter B have been completely removed to visually clean up the shape. The voluminous B element in the centre remains, but thanks to the bevelled edges of the glass and the metal trim, it now looks more like the dial of an expensive watch.

The original "Winged B" design was created by Gordon Crosby in 1919. Updates followed in 1931, the 1990s and 2002. However, Bentley stresses that the new 2025 design is the biggest change to the instantly recognisable badge in more than a century of history.
