A video card for the modest but ambitious: GIGABYTE reveals GeForce RTX 5050 with AI and DLSS 4

GIGABYTE has officially unveiled the GeForce RTX 5050 line of graphics cards. The company seems to have decided to give users everything at once: if you want three choppers and armour, take GAMING, if you like minimalism, choose WINDFORCE, and if you have a PC the size of a shoebox, welcome to Low Profile.

What we know

The RTX 5050 is based on NVIDIA Blackwell architecture with DLSS 4 support and a bunch of AI features. GIGABYTE promises that these cards will deliver a new level of performance not only in games, but also in creative tasks - because NVIDIA Studio is also at your fingertips.

GAMING OC 8G and WINDFORCE OC 8G have received an improved WINDFORCE cooling system. The new Hawk Fan delivers 53.6% more airflow with reduced noise and 12.5% more efficient airflow inside the case. Server-grade thermal gel, heat pipes, and massive heatsinks ensure that the card doesn't turn into a toaster while gaming.

GAMING OC has three fans, brutal armour, and customisation thanks to the sliding side plate. The WINDFORCE OC is a restrained black design, simpler, cheaper, but with RTX 5050 under the hood.

But the real star is the GeForce RTX 5050 OC Low Profile 8G. It is only 182 mm long. It is ideal for those who have assembled a compact SFF PC but are not ready to put up with an integrated card or old cards. The video card has four video outputs (2x HDMI and 2x DisplayPort) and supports up to four monitors simultaneously. It comes with an interchangeable low-profile bracket.

Please note that the RTX 5050 requires a 450W power supply and a PCIe x16 motherboard. Sales started on 1 July, but the RTX 5050 will be available in stores only at the end of the month. So be patient - or, alternatively, start training your reflexes to hunt for the "scarcity".

Briefly:

  • NVIDIA Blackwell architecture
  • Support for DLSS 4 and AI optimisation
  • Hawk Fan cooling with +53.6% to air pressure
  • Three series: GAMING OC (top-of-the-line), WINDFORCE OC (budget), Low Profile OC (compact)
  • Up to 4 monitors and included low profile bracket for SFF chassis
