A new Resident Evil game has been announced, but it's not what you think it is
Capcom has unveiled a new game in the Resident Evil franchise, but it's not a horror, co-operative action or even an online game like the recently closed Resident Evil Re: Verse. Moreover, its direct development is done not by the famous Japanese company, but by outsourcing studios Aniplex and JOYCITY.
Here's What We Know
So, the developers announced Resident Evil: Survival Unit - real-time strategy game for iOS and Android.
It is stated that the game will retain the main features of Resident Evil, but will offer a "fresh take on the much-loved franchise" and showcase it in a new genre. Capcom will oversee development to ensure gamers get a quality and fun game that will follow the Resident Evil canon.
When We Can Expect It
There is no official release date for Resident Evil: Survival Unit yet, perhaps it will be announced during a special stream that will take place on 11 July on the game's YouTube channel.
Resident Evil: Survival Unit will be available for gamers in Europe, Asia and North America.
