iFixit gives Fairphone 6 a maximum 10/10 for repairability
In a world where smartphones are glued together layer by layer and batteries are hidden under a thick layer of glue, Fairphone 6 is a rare exception. iFixit experts have disassembled the new device and delivered their verdict: 10 points out of 10 for repairability. This already sounds like a verdict for competitors who have been forcing users to pay for the replacement of the entire device due to a minor breakdown for years.
The Fairphone 6 keeps the tradition of its predecessors: two Torx T5 screws, and the back cover is already removed. The battery is secured with four screws, and the display is held in place with eight. No glue, no heat guns - just logic and a screwdriver. Even the USB-C port and camera modules are made in such a way that they can be changed separately, without complete disassembly.

iFixit noted not only the design but also the philosophy: Fairphone promises support for updates and spare parts until 2033, and according to the Fraunhofer Institute, extending the life of a phone by 2 years reduces the carbon footprint by a third.

Of course, IP55 versus IP68 looks modest, and the cameras don't claim to be the "best in the world". But the Fairphone 6 is different - it's a smartphone designed to live longer than the next flagship.
