Xiaomi has officially started road testing its flagship SU7 Ultra sedan in Europe. The first production model with registration number "M SU7088E" has been registered in Munich, Germany. It is the first SU7 with full approval for use on public roads in Europe.

Here's What We Know

Xiaomi Group President Lu Weibing personally test-drove the SU7 Ultra during a business trip to Europe. In a publication on Weibo, he noted the symbolism of the number: "M" is both Munich and Mi (Xiaomi), and SU7 is the designation of the model.

Recall that the SU7 Ultra is a nearly 5-metre-long sedan weighing 2.2 tonnes, equipped with a 93.7-kilowatt-hour CATL Qilin II battery. The electric car is capable of accelerating to 100 km/h in 1.98 seconds and the top speed is limited to 350 km/h. Key technical features include carbon-ceramic brakes and a chassis specially calibrated for the race track. The prototypes were tested, including at the Nürburgring.

On 26 June, the company announced that the SU7 Ultra prototype passed the Nürburgring North Loop in 6:22.091 minutes, becoming the third fastest electric car on the track. The production version equipped with the Track Professional Package clocked 7:04.957, making it the fastest production electric sedan on the track at the time.

Xiaomi's European plans

Registering the car in Germany is a technical validation before a full-fledged market launch. Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun has previously said that the brand's international expansion will begin in 2027. For now, this is the only SU7 Ultra in Europe, and it's not aimed at customers.
