A sub-flagship with flagship ambitions: the OnePlus Nord 5 is officially unveiled

OnePlus has officially unveiled the Nord 5, a smartphone that has become the most powerful model in the brand's subflagship series. The novelty is aimed at users looking for a balance between performance, autonomy and price.

Here's What We Know

The smartphone received a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip and a lot of AI features previously available only in top models.

The OnePlus Nord 5 features a 6.83″ AMOLED display with 144Hz refresh rate, 1.5K resolution and brightness up to 1800 nits. The screen is protected by an ultra-rugged Gorilla Glass 7i coating.

Storage capacity reaches up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB of inbuilt storage (UFS 3.1 in Europe, UFS 4.0 in China). The device is IP65 protected and is sold with the company's Android 15-based OxygenOS 15 shell.

The Nord 5's main camera is built on a Sony LYT-700 sensor with optical stabilisation, complemented by an 8 MP ultra-wide module. The front camera is 50 MP from Samsung, supports autofocus and 4K/60fps shooting.

OnePlus offers two battery versions: 6800mAh for India and 5200mAh for Europe, both supporting 80W SuperVOOC fast charging.

Some of the unique features include Open Canvas for multitasking, voice transcription, instant call and video translation, AI-assisted photo enhancement and Google's inbuilt Gemini assistant.

The OnePlus Nord 5 is available in trth colours:

  • Dry Ice - a cool silver-blue shade with a matte effect;
  • Marble Sands - light beige with a marble texture reminiscent of sand dunes;
  • Phantom Grey - dark grey with a metallic cast, the most austere and versatile.

In Europe, the OnePlus Nord 5 is available in several configurations:

  • 8GB/256GB version - €449;
  • 12GB/256GB - €499;
  • top version with 12GB/512GB - €549.

Prices may vary slightly depending on country and retailer.
