Trump considers sending Ukraine another Patriot system - WSJ
US President Donald Trump may provide Ukraine with an additional Patriot air defence system. The White House has already sent a request to the Pentagon, The Wall Street Journal reports.
Here's What We Know
According to US officials, they are discussing options for strengthening Ukraine's air defence, including through the involvement of allies and international cooperation mechanisms. The possibility of transferring several more Patriot batteries, which could potentially be provided by partners, is being considered.
The United States has so far transferred three Patriot systems to Kyiv, three more to Germany, and one to European countries jointly. However, some of these systems are constantly under maintenance or in rotation.
On 8 July, the Pentagon officially confirmed a new aid package, which included 10 interceptor missiles for the Patriot system. In addition, according to Axios, Washington is working to ensure that Germany provides Ukraine with another air defence battery.
In short, Trump has repeatedly stated his support for Ukraine's defence capabilities against the backdrop of Russian aggression.
