Insider: 'that Fallout' and several other games in the franchise are already in development
Fallout fans are eagerly awaiting news about future instalments of the series. Bethesda CEO Todd Howard has repeatedly hinted that Fallout 5 will be released someday, but it won't happen soon (it is expected to happen not earlier than 2030).
Also, information about a Fallout 3 remaster occasionally pops up online, which was first revealed in leaked Microsoft documents. So it seems that the cult apocalyptic franchise is not only not abandoned, but will be actively developed.
Here's What We Know
On the Skill Up podcast, authoritative VGC journalist Jordan Middler said that several Fallout projects are in production, including "the one everyone is waiting for".
It's unclear what exactly was meant by that wording, but gamers have long wished that Obsidian Entertainment, the studio that once released Fallout New Vegas, would return to work on the franchise and create a new game.
Representatives of the studio said that such an option is not excluded and they would be happy to work on Fallout again, and considering that Obsidian is close to completing the main work on Grounded 2 and The Outer Worlds 2, it is quite possible that its next game will be some kind of Fallout.
