It's not a given that they would have found the right road: a designer has shown what the Google Maps interface could have looked like on an old Nokia 3210 phone
It's hard to believe, but Google Maps hasn't always existed and the days when people used signposts, paper atlases and even (unbelievably!) asking passers-by for directions are not long gone.
Google Maps appeared in 2005 and now it is impossible to find a smartphone without this application.
Here's What We Know
An enthusiastic designer under the nickname .W. published a short but interesting video in which he showed how the Google Maps interface could look like on old Nokia button phones. The author chose the good old Nokia 3210 and drew the Google Maps interface on it, taking into account the capabilities of the phones of that time and monochrome displays.
The conclusion is one: it would take a very long time to get there with such an app.
