Elegant flagship with cool specs: Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy Z Fold 7, which will be the thinnest foldable smartphone in the line-up
At the big Galaxy Unpacked presentation, Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Z Fold 7, a new generation of foldable smartphone that is a marked step forward from previous models.
Galaxy Z Fold 7 is not just a gadget, it is a manifesto of engineering elegance and digital progress, becoming the thinnest and lightest foldable smartphone in the history of the brand.
The manufacturer emphasised on compactness, an improved camera and a more wear-resistant display. The novelty received an updated design, slim body, support for Galaxy AI and improvements aimed at everyday convenience.
Here's What We Know
The Galaxy Z Fold7 is noticeably thinner and lighter: it's 8.9mm thick when folded, just 4.2mm thick when unfolded, and weighs approximately 215 grams. This makes it 26% thinner and 10% lighter than the previous model.
The main internal display is 8.0″Dynamic AMOLED 2X, while the external display is 6.5″, both operating at a refresh rate of 120Hz and peak brightness of up to 2600 nits. The manufacturer also claims a 60 per cent reduction in crease visibility thanks to a new screen design and improved glass mounting.
Screen protection is provided by Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2, while the back panel is covered by Gorilla Glass Victus 2.
The camera has also received a significant upgrade: the main camera is 200 MP (the same as the Galaxy S25 Ultra), with an additional 12 MP and a 10 MP telephoto lens.
The smartphone features a new Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy processor, 12GB of RAM and up to 1TB of inbuilt storage. Battery capacity remains at 4400 mAh, but cooling has been improved. It supports 25W wired charging and 15W wireless charging, as well as 4.5W reverse wireless charging.
The manufacturer will provide the Galaxy Z Fold7 with seven years of Android updates and security patches.
The Galaxy Z Fold7 works with Galaxy AI and has integration with Google's AI tools including Gemini. The smartphone supports multitasking, including window layouts and an updated interface for the foldable format.
Samsung has dropped S Pen support, sacrificing the stylus for the model's sophistication.
The smartphone is available in sleek black, silver and blue colours. The exclusive mint shade of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is available exclusively when purchased through Samsung's official online shop.
