On 9 July 2025, Nvidia set an all-time record by becoming the first publicly traded company whose market capitalisation exceeded $4 trillion. This achievement allowed it to surpass giants such as Microsoft and Apple to become the most valuable company in the world.

Here's What We Know

Nvidia has been on a systematic path to this result, becoming the most sought-after manufacturer of chips that are used in most of today's technology, from electric cars to data centres.

The artificial intelligence boom has dramatically increased demand for Nvidia's graphics processing units (GPUs) used in AI systems, and it continues to grow rapidly. Chips based on the Blackwell architecture are selling well and there is no suggestion that any of the competitors will surpass them.

The capitalisation of the American corporation has also increased due to the following factors:

  • 2.4% growth of the stock on the day of the record achievement;
  • a market share in the SP 500 index of 7.3 per cent, more than Apple and Microsoft;
  • a deal with Saudi Arabia to build AI infrastructure strengthened the company's position on the international stage.

Nvidia's capitalisation growth rate is also of interest:

  • June 2023 - $1 trillion;
  • June 2024 - $3 trillion;
  • July 2025 - $4 trillion.

This development highlights Nvidia's dominance in AI and symbolises a new era where technology is becoming a major driver of the global economy.
