Core Devices has released an updated Pebble app for Android, which is now available in the Google Play store. It is designed for the new Core 2 Duo and Core Time 2 smartwatches and is compatible with a number of older Pebble models, including Pebble Time, Time Steel, Time Round, and Pebble 2.

Here's What We Know

The app description refers to the models as Pebble 2 Duo and Pebble Time 2.

The app also supports Pebble Timer and Calendar, and allows you to receive notifications from popular services such as Slack, Strava, Google Calendar, ChatGPT, and eufy Clean.

Key features of the new Pebble App:

  • setting up the watch and choosing a watch face,
  • installing applications on the device,
  • synchronising health data (for compatible models),
  • firmware updates,
  • the ability to send error reports.

The development is based on the open source libpebble3 project, which allows enthusiasts and developers to easily integrate new features or make changes.

Pebble and Core Devices founder Eric Migicovsky confirmed at X that Android and iOS versions of the app will be released before the watches start shipping to customers. The first 2000-4000 units of Core 2 Duo are expected to ship in late July or early August. The next batch will be delivered by the end of August.

At the time of publication:

  • The Core 2 Duo White is available for $149 with shipping in August,
  • the black version is currently sold out,
  • Core Time 2 costs $225 and will be delivered no earlier than January 2026.
