Galaxy Z Flip 6 has received an update, but it's not the one we were waiting for
Samsung has begun rolling out a new software update for the Galaxy Z Flip 6 that brings only security updates for July 2025.
Here's What We Know
On Wednesday, 9 July, the company officially unveiled the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7, and Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE along with a stable version of One UI 8.0 based on Android 16. Many users hoped to get this update for previous models, including the Galaxy Z Flip 6.
However, the new update for the Galaxy Z Flip 6 does not yet contain One UI 8.0, but only includes the July security patch. Currently, the update is only available for the South Korean version of the phone (model SM-F741N) with firmware number F741NKSS2BYFC.
The update is expected to be available for other regions and models in the near future.
How To Switch It On
To check for updates, go to Settings, Software Update, Download and Install.
There is no official information on the release date of One UI 8 for Galaxy Z Flip 6 yet.
