British studio Creative Assembly has announced news that will upset fans of the strategy Total War: Warhammer III.

Here's What We Know

The authors have decided to postpone the release of a major addition Tides of Torment.

It was expected to be released during the summer, but now they plan to release it by the end of the year.

The developers honestly admitted that after internal testing of Total War: Warhammer III - Tides of Torment they were not satisfied with the quality of the add-on and decided to significantly improve it.

During our recent testing, we asked whether the next add-on meets the standards we set in previous releases, and the short answer was no. However, we know it can, and that's why we want to spend more time refining, reviewing content, and improving gameplay.

These changes will likely result in content for the Slaanesh and Norski factions that we've shown in recent videos no longer being relevant. Once the edits are final, we'll share all the details with you in the next video and give you a full look at the third faction of the add-on (High Elves) and the changes to the other factions.

We know this is disappointing news. The year 2025 has been a less fulfilling year for many in our community, and we are noticing it. We're proud of the updates released for the game this year, but we also know that what you want most is to experience something new, including a variety of gameplay styles, legendary lords, units, and so on.

Although the game is in better condition than in previous years, we are currently unable to fulfil our promises of increased activity. Therefore, we apologise for not being more transparent with you.

However, Total War: Warhammer III will not be without new content: Creative Assembly will release a big update before the end of July, and in August we will release patch 6.3, which will bring significant changes to the game.
