The Astronauts studio has revealed details of the biggest update Webgrave for the dark shooter Witchfire, which will expand the game world and change the approach to character development, crafting and combat system.

Here's What We Know

Polish developers will release Webgrave on the 28th of July. The update will be available for free and will bring many significant improvements and innovations.

The main of them will be a new location - the Infected City, on which witches have imposed an ancient curse, which became the cause of the epidemic.

Fans of the famous Bloodborne will feel at home: the city is filled with gothic, dark atmosphere and lore - here players will have to solve mysteries, collect artefacts and fight with new types of enemies.

The leveling system will also undergo changes: there will be six new characteristics - Flesh, Blood, Intelligence, Sorcery, Arsenal and Faith, which will determine the style of the game. Along with them, the "Beads" system is being introduced - magical beads similar to Caryll's runes will give powerful bonuses when certain conditions are met.

The updated Workshop 2.0 will offer players a step-by-step and more intuitive process for creating gear. Inspired by mechanics from the cult game Syndicate (1993), it will make crafting part of strategic choices rather than a random experiment.

New weapons will also be added, including the Oracle rifle, which can shoot through walls, and the mysterious Nemesis, whose properties are being kept secret for now.

The developers promise to reveal additional details closer to the update's release.

Witchfire is available only on PC on Steam and EGS.
