Octopath Traveler and Tenchu authors have entered into a strategic partnership with a major Arab publisher
Famous Japanese studio Acquire Corp. has signed a multi-year co-operation agreement with colleagues from the United Arab Emirates.
Here's What We Know
Together with Red Dunes Games, Acquire Corp will develop bold and deep games for all platforms.
Three projects have been announced so far:
- Project Tremor, a game about large-scale battles of giant kaiju monsters;
- Project Umbra - a hunting game in a dark fantasy setting;
- Project Shadowcar, a spy thriller.
All games will be created in a specific genre and with a clear vision. They are scheduled to be unveiled at major events, with the first possibly taking place at the Tokyo Game Show in September.
Acquire is an experienced studio with Tenchu, Way of the Samurai and Akibaʼs Trip in its portfolio. But it is best known as the creator of the Octopath Traveler series, on which it worked with Square Enix.
All we know about Red Dunes Games is that it is an independent game developer and publisher, apparently with big ambitions, and given that the company is from the UAE, it has no shortage of funding for games.
