"No cartoons about AI": Ukrainian startup Fourth Law shows a video of combat artificial intelligence in drones

The Fourth Law (TFL), a Ukrainian defence company, has announced the first round of funding from investors from the EU, the US and Canada and presented its latest development, the TFL-1 autonomy module. This solution allows FPV drones to operate more efficiently in real-world combat conditions, compensating for the weaknesses of classic operator control, especially in the EW zone and GPS signal loss.

TFL-1: last mile autonomy

The company's flagship product, the TFL-1 module, enables the drone to fly to the target on its own during the final 500 metres of the route. Thanks to an on-board computer with AI algorithms, the system recognises moving and stationary objects and guides the drone to the exact centre of the target. This is an approach to autonomy that solves several problems at once:

  • overcomes interference from electronic warfare;
  • eliminates dependence on line of sight and radio range;
  • reduces the load on the pilot in stressful conditions.

According to TFL, the TFL-1 increases mission success by 2-5 times with only a 10-20% increase in the cost of the drone.

Tested at the frontline

The TFL-1 system has already undergone combat testing by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Since March 2025, it has been actively used by the 58th Separate Mechanised Brigade. "The system helps to overcome electronic warfare suppression and hit targets in difficult conditions. It proved to be the best during special missions," said Colonel Ruslan Shevchuk, commander of the 58th Mechanised Brigade.

Ambition and scalability

The TFL-1 module is designed for mass production: the company plans to produce hundreds of thousands of units per month, ensuring integration on every FPV drone. In addition to the modules, TFL offers the Lupinis-10-TFL-1 complex, a UAV with one hundred drones, a control station, and auxiliary equipment.

The company plans to bring autonomy to new levels: from automatic bombing to autonomous take-off, GPS-free navigation and the creation of drone swarms. TFL founder Yaroslav Azhnyuk emphasises: "Scalable drone autonomy is the key defence technology of this decade. We are doing the most important work of our lives, and the investment we have attracted is just the beginning."

About the company

Founded in 2023 in Kyiv, Ukraine, Fourth Law specialises in the development of autonomous robotic systems. The company already has offices in the US, EU and Ukraine, and its name refers to Isaac Asimov's laws of robotics and the search for the mysterious "Fourth Law".
