Xbox's "Stream Your Game" feature is now available on PC as well
Microsoft is expanding cloud streaming capabilities: Game Pass Ultimate subscribers participating in the Xbox Insiders for PC group will now be able to stream their console games directly to the Xbox PC App. Previously, the Strеam Your Own Game feature has already become available on Xbox Series X|S, One, TVs, smartphones, tablets and Meta Quest headsets, and now - and on Windows PC.
Here's What We Know
At launch, users have access to a catalogue of more than 250 games, including exclusive console projects. There are plans to add more console-only games and Play Anywhere games in the future. This solution helps to save space on SSD - relevant, for example, when playing Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, which requires 128 GB of free space.
The update is expected for the PC version of the Xbox App, because it is a logical step after the introduction of the function in the browser and TV. That said, only the beta version is available for now - for members of the Xbox Preview Programme and with an Ultimate subscription .
For Microsoft - this is another step towards building a unified gaming ecosystem in which the device ceases to play a key role. Console, PC and cloud streaming are gradually merging into one platform, available on all screens.
This approach lowers the entry threshold for players - now you don't need a powerful PC to run a "heavy" console game: all you need is a Game Pass Ultimate subscription and a stable internet connection. This is especially relevant for those who do not have physical access to Xbox, but have a desire to play exclusives.
