Ubisoft and Tencent continue to form a new subsidiary, which will be transferred the rights to the key franchises of the French publisher - Assassin's Creed, Far Cry and Rainbow Six.

Portals Insider gaming and Variety published exclusive information about the plans of Ubisoft management to reorganise the workflow.

Here's What We Know

In an address to employees, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot said that his son Charlie Guillemot and game industry veteran Christophe Derennes will lead the new company, which will begin operations by the end of 2025 and will bring together employees from Ubisoft Québec, Ubisoft Saguenay, Ubisoft Sherbrooke and Ubisoft Montréal.

To encourage developers to come up with new ideas, Ubisoft will open up several "creative houses". They will be given considerable autonomy and creative freedom, but will report to the parent company. The first such "creative house" will open in October, and in September Yves Guimault promises to share the first official information about the new structure, further plans and global strategy of the company.

After years of financial failures, the French company was on the verge of bankruptcy and was forced to make a number of global decisions to save the business, including the opening of a new company (which will be headed by Charlie Guimault) together with the Chinese corporation Tencent, which invested € 1.16 billion and received a 25% stake.
