Berlin to give Ukraine 200,000 more Gepard shells
Germany has announced a new military aid package for Ukraine, which includes hundreds of thousands of rounds of ammunition and funding for domestic attack drones.
Here's What We Know
As part of the package, Berlin is donating more than 200,000 rounds of ammunition for Gepard self-propelled anti-aircraft guns, which play a key role in protecting Ukrainian cities from Russian drones and missiles. This was announced by the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine after the 29th meeting in the Ramstein format.
Germany will also finance the purchase of Ukrainian long-range drones, including Lutyi and possibly Bars strike UAVs. Back in early July, it was reported that Berlin intended to finance the production of 500 "Lutyi" - Ukrainian-made kamikaze drones.
In addition to receiving projectiles as part of international aid, Ukraine also buys them directly from the German company Rheinmetall.

The support for Ukrainian UAVs comes not only from Germany: in November 2024, the Swedish government also allocated funds for the development of domestic drone production. The format of direct on-site financing speeds up the production and delivery of weapons to the Defence Forces.
