The public beta of iOS 26 may be released tomorrow, 23 July
Mark Gurman has already reported that the public version of the "glass" iOS 26 may be released this week. Judging by the build number, it may be released tomorrow, 23 July.
Here's What We Know
An Apple informant with a proven track record indicates that developer beta 4 (build: 23A5297i for iOS/iPadOS, 25A5316i for macOS, 23R5317g for watchOS, etc.), which usually precedes the public beta the next day.
Bloomberg analyst Mark Gurman confirms that the public beta should be released around 23 July. Tom's Guide also describes Apple's readiness to release the beta this week.
What does this mean for users
Developers have had access to the latest version of the OS for a long time, and the public beta gives this opportunity to anyone who has enabled the update to beta versions in the settings. iOS 26 will feature Liquid Glass, Apple Intelligence, improved spam protection, the Games app, and other changes. The public beta will be available simultaneously on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Watch, Apple TV, and HomePod, as Apple usually does.
What you need to do
If you are already in the Apple Beta Software programme, wait for the update. Be sure to make a backup before installing - the public beta may contain bugs. Once you install the public beta, you'll be close to the final version of the update - it's scheduled for release in September 2025 alongside the iPhone 17 (TechRadar).
Bottom line.
Developer beta 4 - expected on 22 July
Public beta iOS 26 - possibly on 23 July
Final release - tentatively September 2025
If you want to be among the first to try the new iOS, now is the time.
