Baseus unveiled the S2 and S1 Lite: solar surveillance cameras with AI and no cloud subscriptions
Baseus has officially expanded its line of smart outdoor surveillance cameras by introducing two models at once - the S2 and S1 Lite. Both cameras are solar-powered and require no monthly subscriptions, making them especially convenient and affordable for users who don't want to depend on cloud services.
Here's What We Know
The flagship Baseus S2 gets support for 4K video, a swivelling solar panel that finds the optimal angle for charging itself, a 7,800mAh battery, and advanced AI-assisted motion recognition. The camera is able to distinguish between people, animals and vehicles and also supports colour night vision. All of this makes it a great solution for 24/7 video surveillance, including in hard-to-reach places.

A simpler model - Baseus S1 Lite - is aimed at those who need simple and reliable: it shoots in Full HD, the same intelligent object recognition functions and works from the built-in solar panel. Despite being compact and lightweight, the S1 Lite retains the basics - autonomy, easy installation and privacy (recording on a memory card, no clouds or logins).

Both cameras are IP67 protected and support Wi-Fi, two-way audio, recording to a microSD card up to 512GB, and work with Alexa and Google Home. HomeKit support has not yet been announced.
