The Honda Prologue and Acura ZDX gained access to the Tesla Supercharger through the NACS-CCS adapter

Honda has officially announced that owners of the Honda Prologue and Acura ZDX electric vehicles now have access to the Tesla Supercharger network - more than 23,500 stations across North America are now available through a specially approved $225 adapter. Charging requires an original Honda adapter, as using a third-party one could void your warranty.

Here's What We Know

The adapter allows the cars' CCS socket to be plugged into the NACS socket adopted by Tesla. For now, running the charging requires the Tesla app, but Honda is already working on integrations with its own HondaLink and Acura EV app.

Since the NACS connector became an industry standard in 2023, a number of major automakers, including Honda, have committed to adopting it. In addition, Honda is partnering with BMW, GM, Hyundai, Kia, Mercedes-Benz and Stellantis on a project to build a massive network of charging stations across North America (including Supercharger, EVgo and IONNA) that support both NACS and CCS connectors.

Why it matters.

For Honda and Acura owners, it means fewer headaches on long journeys: you'll now be able to charge at the same station as Tesla owners, and do so quickly - a move that reduces the fear of being left without a charge and makes the transition to electric vehicles more convenient.
