Insider: new Fable won't come out until 2027, but not because of quality issues with the game
The Fable relaunch was announced in 2020 in a memorable teaser featuring Toad brutally swallowing Fairy. Since then, the games release has been repeatedly postponed and it is now expected to come out in 2026. But according to new reports, that may not happen.
Here's What We Know
On air on the XboxEra podcast, respected insider Shpeshal_Nick revealed that according to two independent sources, the new Fable won't be released until 2027 at the earliest.
The informant stressed that it's not that Playground Games studio has encountered technical or creative problems - the team needs more time to realise all their ideas at a decent level.
Shpeshal_Nick assures that the work on the game is carried out in a calm and controlled mode, but the plans of the developers are so large-scale that gamers will have to wait longer. At the same time, Xbox management has no doubt that the game will meet all expectations and is not looking to cut its funding.

Fable is being developed for the PC and Xbox Series and will go straight into the Game Pass catalogue.
