The 2026 Toyota Corolla in the US gets rid of the analogue dashboard and the hybrid gets all-wheel drive

Toyota has introduced updated Corolla and Corolla Hybrid sedans for the US market. The 2026 model features improved equipment and a slight price increase. The base Corolla LE now costs from $22,725 (excluding destination fee $1,195).

Here's What We Know

The FX Edition has disappeared from the lineup for the new model year. However, the more affordable LE and SE trims now feature a digital instrument cluster with a 7-inch display. Previously, analogue gauges with a small 4.2-inch screen were used.

The top-of-the-line XSE version (pictured below) features a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, replacing the previous 7-inch one. The same display is now available as an option for the SE trim as well.

All versions of the 2026 Corolla are now equipped with blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert by default. Also standard is Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 - adaptive cruise control, lane keeping, automatic braking with pedestrian detection and other features.

The regular Corolla retains the 2.0-litre petrol engine with 169 hp and 151 lb-ft (205 Nm) of torque. Paired with a CVT, it delivers up to 35 miles per gallon on a mixed cycle (6.7 l/100 km). The price increase turned out to be moderate: the base LE has added $400, as well as SE and XSE.

The hybrid Corolla gets the same innovations - digital instrumentation and blind spot monitoring system - and now costs from $24,575, which is $750 more than the previous price. The hybrid has a 1.8-litre engine and an electric motor with a combined 138bhp. Consumption is up to 53 miles per gallon in the city (4.4 l/100 km) and 50 miles per gallon on a mixed cycle (4.7 l/100 km).

In addition, the Corolla Hybrid is available with all-wheel drive. This version costs $1,400 more and uses an additional electric motor on the rear axle when needed.
