HyperOS 2.2 - what's new and which models will get the update (list)

While Xiaomi is working on the upcoming HyperOS 3, it is not forgetting to improve HyperOS 2. The latest update, which has already started rolling out to Chinese devices, has brought new interesting features.

Changes in HyperOS 2.2

  • AI Matting 2.0: more precise cutting of people in images with automatic background replacement (seasons, locations, weather effects). Along with the new background, AI adjusts the colour scheme and lighting.
  • AI beautyfication is now also available for group photos
  • Smart Memory Album: albums are automatically grouped by events, time or place, and photos can be searched by a description of what they show
  • The built-in photo editor now has animated stickers, collage presets, and custom templates for group photo processing
  • The video editor has learnt to remove background noise
  • Backup: photos and videos in Xiaomi Cloud are saved in their original quality and displayed in the gallery in the same way as local photos
  • Faster photo and file sharing between your smartphone, tablet, TV or PC. You can search for files on all devices at once
  • Smart Service Dashboard: a new memory analysis centre - shows duplicate photos, photo statistics, and suggests deleting unnecessary photos

Which devices will receive the HyperOS 2.2 update

The global versions of Xiaomi 14, Xiaomi 13, Xiaomi 12, Redmi Note 13, POCO F6 Pro, POCO X6 Series, and Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro will receive the update in the next two weeks. A total of 30 models will be updated to HyperOS 2.2:
