The success of Last Epoch has not gone unnoticed: publisher Krafton has acquired the Eleventh Hour Games studio
Despite the public scandal with Unknown Worlds Entertainment studio over the postponed release of Subnautica 2, Korean publisher Krafton continues to expand its influence in the gaming industry and has acquired another studio.
Here's What We Know
Eleventh Hour Games, an independent company that was founded in 2017 by a group of enthusiasts looking to create the perfect competitor to Diablo and Path of Exile, has announced a partnership with Krafton.
Eleventh Hour Games head Judd Cobler announced that his studio has been taken over by Krafton. The deal cost $95 million, giving the Koreans 100% ownership of the studio.
Judd Cobler said that his team negotiated with many major publishers, but Krafton made the most interesting offer:
Krafton has clearly demonstrated that their goals align with ours: they are willing to not only support, but guide us through the key issues our studio will face in the future. This collaboration will realise things we could only dream of before, and I look forward to revealing the details.
As a reminder, Krafton owns PUBG Studios, Striking Distance Studios, Tango Gameworks, Unknown Worlds Entertainment and a number of other companies, while Eleventh Hour Games' studio released the isometric action-RPG Last Epoch from early access in 2024, which became a hit and sold over 3 million copies.
The deal with Krafton will allow the studio to expand its staff and will soon publish new vacancies to continue development of Last Epoch. Meanwhile, the developers' plans remain the same: the third season of the game will start on the 21st of August, and the fourth season - in four months.
