Chinese company Insta360, known for its 360° cameras, has brought a new sub-brand, Antigravity, to market, and it looks to be the start of a new era in drone technology. The drone, which will be able to shoot 360° video at 8K resolution and weigh less than 249g, is expected to launch in August - meeting the limit of not requiring the device to be registered in most countries.

Here's What We Know

The Antigravity project is being developed in collaboration with Insta360 and other partners, but it's the brand that's being tested on a strategy: to create the first fully 360 drone that's accessible to everyone from the aspiring blogger to the advanced content writer.

The leaks have confirmed at least two models: one compact, close in size to the DJI Flip or Neo, the other is a foldable model reminiscent of the Mini or Air models, with a design that reduces the visibility of the propellers in 360 shots. Both models are expected to be readily available: compact, modular, with intelligent safety mechanisms including load detectors and tamper protection.

There are no official technical specs yet - Antigravity is focusing on brand philosophy and promises rather than detailed numbers. A full announcement is due in August. At the same time, this is an opportunity for Insta360 to strengthen its position in the 360-graphics segment, especially considering the competition from DJI, which is also preparing its own 360° camera.
