Ferrari Purosangue recalled due to possible brake problems
Ferrari has announced a recall of 552 examples of the Purosangue crossover due to a potential fault in the brake system.
Here's What We Know
According to documents filed with the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), it is possible that the fuse box power cable may come in contact with the front passenger footrest. This could result in a short circuit and reduced braking performance.
Ferrari will install an additional insulating element to eliminate the defect. The company notes that there is no risk of fire or electrocution. Cars manufactured after February 2025 are already fitted with the retrofitted parts.
The recall applies to 2023-2025 model years. Meanwhile, 2025 model year vehicles manufactured after the retrofit are not subject to the campaign. Official notices to owners will begin to be sent out in September.
The Ferrari Purosangue is powered by a 6.5-litre V12 engine producing 715bhp. It has 15.7-inch diameter brake discs on the front axle and 15-inch brake discs on the rear. This is the first recall for this model, and at the time of publication, the NHTSA database does not list any official complaints from owners.
The most heavily recalled Ferrari model remains the 1995 F355, which at one time had six recalls announced.
