Lexar has introduced the SSD PLAY 2280 - specially optimised for PS5 and PC users
Lexar has launched the Play 2280 SE PCIe 4.0 SSD, a model specifically optimised for PlayStation 5 and compatible with PCs. The novelty provides read speeds up to 7000 MB/s and write speeds up to 6000 MB/s, suitable for running games directly from the disc - without the need to clear the console memory.
Here's What We Know
The device is equipped with a built-in heatsink, stylised in PS5 style, which not only passively cools the SSD, but also protects it when carrying and installing it. The manufacturer claims a resource of up to 3200 TBW, which means high durability and stable operation under load.
According to the company, the novelty has already been tested and approved by Sony for use in PS5, allowing gamers to install and run game files without deleting existing projects.
The 4 TB model (which can store around 100+ AAA games) is already available for sale at a recommended price of $225.
