HyperOS bug resets Xiaomi's battery charge cycles
Xiaomi users have a problem that not everyone noticed: HyperOS sometimes resets the charging cycle counter. The data that used to show dozens of cycles can suddenly drop to one, which causes confusion and reduces the reliability of battery monitoring.
What we know.
Users who have been monitoring the number of charging cycles of their battery have noticed a sharp drop in the number of cycles at some point, for example, from 28 to 2 - without any hardware changes. Everything points to an internal error in the data recording logic. In this case, the phone's operation does not change - but the true value of the counter is lost, which is especially important for those who are going to sell the smartphone or track battery degradation over time. The bug is not very common and may appear only on certain models or firmware, but it is not yet clear which models are at risk and what causes the bug to appear.

It is important for users to see the exact number of charging cycles, as this affects the understanding of battery wear. There is no other reliable way to find out this information from the manufacturer. If the system resets large values of hundreds of cycles in this way, it can be very misleading to users.
