During its second quarterly investor report, Samsung officially announced plans to launch the Galaxy Z TriFold - the first tri-fold phone with two internal hinges - and XR glasses for Android XR by the end of 2025.

Samsung is expected to hold the announcement in October 2025, before Apple announces its foldable smartphone, to get two steps ahead of the competition. Unlike the Huawei Mate XT, all Samsung's hinges will only fold inwards. Because of this, a separate external display will have to be made, but this is done on purpose. The fact is that the flexible display is not resistant to external damage, so Samsung plans to make a more expensive implementation, but more reliable.

Expected specifications: Snapdragon 8 Elite, 16 GB RAM, camera like Galaxy Z Fold 7, 25W fast charging.

The expected price is approximately $3,000 to $3,500.

The product is still known under the codename Project Moohan. It is the first headset to run on Android XR, a platform developed by Google in cooperation with Samsung and Qualcomm.

Hardware: Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 with Adreno 740 GPU and 6 performance cores, 16 GB of RAM,
two Micro-OLED (OLEDoS) displays with a frequency of 90 Hz, eye tracking technology and processing of up to 12 video streams, which allows capturing and instantly displaying images in near real time with minimal delay.

The announcement is scheduled for September-October 2025, with sales starting in South Korea and China, followed by global expansion.

Conclusions.

Despite the unstable political and economic situation in the world, Samsung is actively expanding its Galaxy ecosystem with brand new devices. This is a rather ambitious expansion of the company's portfolio, so we are keeping our fingers crossed that Samsung will be successful in its experiments and will be able to develop the market further.
