Nintendo has announced a price hike for Switch consoles and accessories in the US
Nintendo continues to raise prices on its last-generation consoles and their accessories.
Here's What We Know
To recap, the Japanese giant recently announced that due to "changing market conditions" the cost of Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch OLED and Nintendo Switch Lite, as well as Nintendo Switch Online subscriptions and popular amiibo figurines are going up in Canada.
This came as a surprise to many, as no similar decision was made in the US, but now (a month later) everything has come to a head as Nintendo has announced that its products will become more expensive in the US market as well.
For example, the Nintendo Switch OLED console has gone up from $350 to $400, the Nintendo Switch Lite from $200 to $230, the Nintendo Switch from $300 to $340, and the Joy-Con 2 controllers from $95 to $110. Other products including amiibo figurines, Nintendo Sound Clock: Alarmo and other Nintendo Switch 2 accessories will also be affected by the price hike.
Meanwhile, the price of the new Nintendo Switch 2 console and its games will remain the same for now.
