The debate continues among insiders and analysts as to when to expect Starfield to be released on PlayStation 5.

Microsoft's new strategy allows no doubt that the Xbox console exclusive will be ported to Sony's platform and information from MP1st concretises the timing.

Here's What We Know

The publication reports that Bethesda plan to release their space role-playing game Starfield on PS5 in the spring of 2026. The author of the material specifies that this has not yet happened because of weak sales of the Shattered Space add-on and the desire of developers to improve the game before releasing on a new platform.

Also MP1st has information that the release of Starfield on PS5 will be accompanied by the release of the second story add-on and possibly a major free update, which will add new content. At the same time, journalists emphasise that there are many factors that can affect Bethesda's plans, so we can't be 100% sure that Starfield will really be released in spring on the Japanese console.

Some kind of announcement is expected to take place at gamescom Opening Night Live, but what it will be, the second add-on or the PS5 version - is still unclear.
