Reduced size, six years of updates and an attractive price: everything you need to know about the budget smartphone Galaxy A17

Android portal Headline has published all the information about the Galaxy A17 budget smartphone, which Samsung is expected to release in early autumn.

This is not the first leak about the Galaxy A17, but it fully confirms the information of French insider billbil-kun and supplements it with new details.

Here's What We Know

So, the novelty from Samsung will get a Super AMOLED display with a diagonal of 6.7″, frame rate of 90 Hz and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection. The smartphone is powered by the SoC Exynos 1330 chipset and features 4.6/8GB of RAM (depending on the model) and storage up to 256GB.

The battery capacity will be 5000 mAh and support for fast charging up to 25W is provided. The smartphone will be protected from moisture according to IP54 standard.

Galaxy A17 will receive the following cameras:

  • main: 50 MP (Samsung JN1) with hybrid OIS - a first for the A1x series;
  • additional: 8 MP ultra-wide-angle + 2 MP macro;
  • frontal - 13 MP.

Notably, the weight of the Galaxy A17 compared to the Galaxy A16 will drop from 200 grams to 192 grams, and the thickness will be reduced by almost half a centimetre.

The smartphone will be sold with One UI 7 based on Android 15 and will get 6 years of OS updates and security patches, which is great for a gadget costing less than $200.
