The new VW Transporter DoKa with open load platform is already available in the brand's configurator
The Volkswagen T7 commercial model range is becoming more and more diverse. After minivans and vans, a practical pick-up truck - the Transporter DoKa - is now available. It is already available in the configurator on the German website of the brand.
Here's What We Know
The Transporter DoKa is the seventh generation of the VW Transporter, which debuted in 2024 and was developed together with Ford. The two-row, open-platform pickup is based on the platform of the new Transit Custom.
The DoKa is characterised by an increased wheelbase of 3,500 mm and an overall length of 5,613 mm - 263 mm longer than the Amarok. Thanks to the short bonnet, most of the increase goes into the body, which reaches 2,169 mm in length and 1,945 mm in width.
In terms of payload, the diesel version is rated at 736kg, while the electric version can take on board up to 785kg.
The base version of the DoKa is powered by a 2.0-litre turbodiesel engine available in two versions: 110 or 150 hp (81/110 kW). Drive is front or all-wheel drive, transmission is 6-speed manual or 8-speed automatic.
The electric version of the e-Transporter is equipped with a rear-mounted motor with three power levels:
- 134 hp (100 kW)
- 215 hp (160 kW)
- 282 hp (210 kW).
In all versions of the electric car the torque is the same - 415 Nm.
The diesel and electric versions can be visually distinguished by the Transporter/e-Transporter inscription on the rear side - the rest of the body is identical. Buyers have a choice of 16-inch steel or alloy wheels.
Prices in Germany
In the home market, prices for the diesel DoKa start at €46,586 and go up to €56,648 including VAT. Electric modifications are more expensive, ranging from €62,128 to €66,316. In comparison, the VW Amarok with an internal combustion engine costs from €58,525 to €73,585.
