Samsung has created a new team within Device eXperience (DX) called the InnoX Lab to work on the artificial intelligence systems of tomorrow - including humanoid robots, virtual digital twins and automated manufacturing.

Here's What We Know

InnoX Lab was established this week. The team includes specialists from various Samsung divisions. The structure is organised around projects, just like in a start-up: the best resources are allocated to specific projects to maximise the effect of cooperation. This is a continuation of the "AI for All" strategy, which previously included the launch of a separate innovation group for AI productivity in the DX division back in May. This spring, a separate AI group was created in DX for internal use, even before the launch of InnoX Lab.

Why Samsung needs it

The company has clearly assessed the prospects of artificial intelligence and the pace of its near-term development. As a manufacturer of a huge number of products, ranging from cars to medical instruments, it is clearly worthwhile for the company to have its own team to develop and apply AI solutions. So, in the near future, we will see Samsung's smart appliances become even smarter.
