Nubia is preparing a flagship with characteristics that make even top competitors tense up. The Z80 Ultra is rumoured to feature a Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 processor, a 7,100mAh silicon-carbon battery, and an improved under-screen camera (UDC).
Known specifications
- Chipset: Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 is Qualcomm's upcoming top-of-the-line platform, with preliminary AnTuTu results of around 3.8 million points, which is ~50 per cent more than the Z70 Ultra with 8 Elite (~2.5 million)
- Battery: 7,100 mAh single-section, silicon-carbon battery (6,150 mAh for its predecessor)
- Display: 1.5K AMOLED with front camera below the screen; 144 Hz
- Cameras: Rear system with at least two 50 MP modules, including a primary sensor and a telephoto lens; but sensors and apertures are not specified
- Protection: IP68/IP69 certification is expected
If these specifications are confirmed, Nubia will show a smartphone that is in many ways more technologically advanced than the Galaxy S26 and other flagships. A powerful and energy-efficient processor, an in-screen camera (which Samsung has abandoned in this generation), and a huge battery - it will be difficult to oppose something to such a monster. And we don't even know its price yet.
