OnePlus 15: goodbye round camera, hello square

Fresh rumours have emerged about the new OnePlus 15: the company will allegedly ditch the usual round camera and introduce a small square module in the upper left corner of the back. Gone is the era of the design that started with the OnePlus 11, according to leaks from Digital Chat Station on Weibo.

What we know about OnePlus 15

  • Camera: the unit will have three 50 MP sensors - wide-angle, ultra-wide and telephoto for 3x or more optical zoom.
  • Screen: a flat 6.78-inch LTPO AMOLED with 1.5K resolution and ultra-thin bezels is expected. The panel is made with LIPO technology, which provides a thinner bezel.
  • Inside: The smartphone is likely to feature a Snapdragon 8 Elite 2, a 7,000-7,500 mAh battery and 100W fast charging support; IP68/69, an under-screen ultrasound scanner, up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage are also expected.
  • Launch dates: The OnePlus 15 could make its debut in China as early as October 2025, and to the global market in early 2026, just like the OnePlus 13 before it.

Context.

OnePlus kept the round camera in the OnePlus 11 and since then it has become a recognisable design element of the series. What's more, many Chinese manufacturers have also used huge round camera blocks The move to a square block could be the start of a new design era. The significant redesign may also indicate the company's desire to emphasise the radical nature of the changes.
