Audi has integrated AirConsole for in-car gaming using a smartphone as a controller
Audi has integrated the AirConsole gaming platform into its vehicles, offering passengers a new way to entertain themselves while travelling, charging an electric vehicle or idling. The AirConsole app is now available in the integrated Audi Application Store, allowing multiplayer and single-player games to be launched directly on the MMI centre display or, depending on equipment, on the screen in front of the front passenger.
Here's What We Know
Connection is as simple as possible: just scan the QR code on the MMI screen to turn your smartphone into a game controller. At the same time, the interface of each game is adapted for control from a mobile device. You can play either alone or with two people - there are arcades, puzzles and other types of games to choose from.
In models with a passenger display and Dynamic Privacy technology, the content will not be visible to the driver while driving - only passengers will be able to play without distracting the driver.
In the US, AirConsole will require:
- An active Audi connect PLUS subscription or trial;
- a myAudi account;
- 4G or 5G mobile network connection;
Available games include UNO Car Party, Pictionary Car Party, GoKart Go!, Snowboard Buddies, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?, Trivia Crack, Burnin' Rubber and more. Some - like Pictionary Car Party, celebrating the 40th anniversary of the boardroom classic - are available exclusively for Audi until the end of 2025.
AirConsole is available on models built on PPC and PPE architectures, including:
- Audi A5 (starting with the 2025 model year)
- Audi Q5 (2025)
- Audi A6 e-tron
- Audi Q6 e-tron
The new feature is part of Audi's broader digital ecosystem, where Spotify, YouTube, DAZN and other apps specifically tailored for in-car use are also available.
