BioShock 4 will definitely come out: Take-Two's head denied rumours of the long-awaited game's cancellation
Last week it became known that the new BioShock instalment was back in production hell, and Cloud Chamber studio underwent a major personnel reshuffle.
The reason for this was the lack of a clear vision for the project, which has been in development since at least 2015.
As reports about the cancellation of long-awaited games, including, for example, Contraband, Perfect Dark and the ambitious MMO Blackbird from the creators of TES Online have become more frequent in recent months, IGN's editorial team turned to Take-Two head Strauss Zelnick for a comment on the fate of BioShock 4.
Here's What We Know
The head of Take-Two is optimistic. He is sure that BioShock 4 will not be cancelled and will be released someday:
Putting my hand on my heart, I can say it will come out. We had ups and downs in the development process. Then there have been changes in leadership. But we have every opportunity to make the project as successful as it was during Ken Levine's time. Therefore, we need to make sure that the fourth part is in keeping with the spirit of its predecessors, but at the same time moving the series forward.
Recall, in the material Bloomberg representatives of 2K Games commented on the development of BioShock 4:
We are working hard to ensure the best possible future for BioShock. We have a good game now, but we're committed to making it great. We are working closely with the studio leadership to determine the way forward.
