Studio id Software released the second major update for DOOM: The Dark Ages, in which the brutal shooter received not only technical improvements, but also a new mode.

Here's What We Know

Let's start with the gifts: gamers are offered two new skins for the Executioner of Doom (DOOM Slayer) - the first one is unlocked at the launch of the game until the 1st of September, but to get the second one you need to pass all three maps in the new Ripatorium mode.

Ripatorium is the main innovation of the patch, it is a battle arena in which players can customise the conditions, number and types of Demons to be fought.

In addition, the update brings the following improvements:

  • expansion of difficulty settings;
  • expansion of the benchmark to test the game's performance in different conditions;
  • bug fixes, global rebalancing of the story campaign, and adjustments to the AI of enemies;
  • improvements to gameplay mechanics, including mech and dragon control.

You can read the patch note on Bethesda's website.

DOOM: The Dark Ages is available on PC (Steam, Microsoft Store, Battle.net), PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series, as well as the Game Pass service.

To celebrate the release of the second update, DOOM: The Dark Ages is being offered at a temporary 25% discount on all platforms.
