Screen adaptation of "Madness": the author of "Fargo" will film a TV series based on the Far Cry game series
Ubisoft continues to actively screen its games. A few days ago it was confirmed the production of a series on Assassin's Creed, and now the French company accidentally blabbed about the production of a similar project on the equally popular franchise.
Here's What We Know
Ubisoft's website published a press release announcing a collaboration with FX (Walt Disney Company) TV channel on a film adaptation of the famous Far Cry shooter series.
The message was hastily removed from the site, but the network is spreading an excerpt from it, which says that the shooting will be headed by famous director Noah Hawley - the author of the dramatic series "Fargo" (Fargo) and the new series "Alien: Earth" (Alien: Earth), which will premiere on 12 August.
This collaboration is a real treasure trove. Far Cry is a psychological corkscrew that is no stranger to the darkest and most absurd sides of human nature, which fits perfectly with FX's bold and fearless storytelling style.
Noah Hawley and actor Rob McElhenney (Mythic Quest, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia) will co-write and executive produce.
It is known that like the game series, each season of Far Cry will be a standalone story with different characters and locations, but it is not yet known if they will be direct adaptations of the shooters or tell standalone stories.
