Absolute Steam record: Battlefield 6 beta attracted over 520k concurrent players and their number continues to grow
Today - 9 August - the first stage of open beta testing of multiplayer modes of Battlefield 6 shooter started.
It has long been obvious that Electronic Arts' new game attracts a lot of attention from the public, but few could have expected that long before the release it would set an impressive record.
Here's What We Know
Battlefield 6 beta set a historical Steam record among beta versions of games. At the time of writing, more than 520 thousand people are in the shooter and their number continues to grow - this result has not been achieved by any other game in testing!
We can expect that the second stage of open beta testing, which will be held from 14 to 17 August, will attract even more players.
Let us remind you that three maps out of nine - Siege of Cairo, Liberation Peak and Iberian Offensive - are available in the testing so far, and Empire State will be added only at the second beta. Gamers can take part in battles in four game modes: Conquest, Breakthrough, Domination and King of the Hill.
In the large-scale Battlefield 6 story campaign, which will appear only at release, players will face off against NATO troops and the private military company Pax Armata, whose members will kill the Alliance General Secretary, which will trigger a global conflict in 2027 (we sincerely hope that this plot will not be prophetic).
