"The Smartest AI" Grok 4 is now available for free, but there's a nuance...

In July, Elon Musk-owned startup xAI launched Grok 4, "the smartest AI in the history of mankind."

The latest model was only available to Supergrok and Grok 4 Heavy subscribers, but now the AI can be used by everyone.

Here's What We Know

xAi announced that the advanced Grok 4 model is now available to all users for free, but there is a catch: non-subscribers can only make five requests every twelve hours. Once the limit is exhausted, the chatbot will ask either to wait for the next day or money.

Recall, Musk announced the following main features of Grok 4:

• 10 times more powerful than Grok 3;
• whispering, singing and different intonations in voice mode;
• 100% correct answers in AIME 25 (Maths Olympiad);
• 44.4% in Humanity's Last Exam when using multi-agent architecture and 25% without it;
• PhD level in all subject tests including maths, programming and physics;
• black hole collision simulation in a browser;
• predicting the outcome of sporting events by analysing data from Polymarket;
• creating games in the browser from a single text query.
