Japanese watchmaker Seiko has unveiled three limited edition Prospex Speedtimer models created in honour of the Datsun 240Z. This series is stylised as watches from the 60s and early 70s, reimagined in a modern design with automotive motifs.

Here's What We Know

The SPB517 is a 39.5mm automatic watch with a calibre 6R55 and a motorsport-inspired countdown bezel. Red accents and the Datsun logo of the period on the dial and caseback recall the livery of a rally car. The mintage will be 2,500 pieces and the price is $1,150.

The SSC957 is a 41.4mm solar chronograph with calibre V192 and an autonomy of up to six months on a full charge. The caseback is engraved with an illustration of the 240Z. This is the most affordable model in the series, with a mintage of 4,000 pieces and a price of $1,000.

SRQ057 - 42mm automatic chronograph with calibre 8R48, black tachymetric bezel and vintage Datsun logo. Limited to 500 pieces and priced at $3,200.

Common details for collectors: engravings on the lids with Datsun emblems of the time, leather straps from certified Leather Working Group tanners, bezels in the style of the original Speedtimer.

In addition to the limited edition, Seiko will expand the Prospex Speedtimer range with production models with the same case and retro elements, but without the Datsun branding.

Global sales of the limited edition versions will begin in September 2025, exclusively at Seiko boutiques and selected partners.
