Leaked: Google Pixel Buds 2a TWS headphones design, specs and price revealed
Google is preparing to release new wireless headphones Pixel Buds 2a, which will be a budget alternative to the Pixel Buds Pro 2 (2024) model.
Their official announcement is expected on 20 August, at the same time as the presentation of Pixel 10 smartphones at the Made by Google event, but, as always, important information leaked to the network in advance.
Here's What We Know
German portal WinFuture paid attention to the information of authoritative insider Evan Blass, who reported that the Pixel Buds 2a will cost €149 and will be offered in two colours - grey and "Iris", which corresponds to the colouring of the Pixel 9a.
The headphones will get active noise cancellation (ANC), but without the Silent Seal 2.0 technology found on more expensive models. There's also no wireless charging support or voice recognition.
Battery life will last up to 7 hours with ANC enabled and up to 20 hours using the charging case, which is significantly less than the Pixel Buds Pro 2 (8 and 30 hours respectively). Spatial Audio is supported, but without Head-Tracking.
Information provided by Evan Blass
Externally, the Pixel Buds 2a resembles the Pixel Buds Pro 2, but with a simplified design. The Google logo is printed, the sensors are positioned differently, and the microphone grille has a different shape. Despite the simplifications, the headphones retain quality noise isolation thanks to silicone ear pads and could be an attractive choice for users looking for a balance between price and functionality.
