The new Siri will allow you to fully control applications with your voice
Apple is testing a new version of Siri that will be able to perform actions within applications, including those guided by the owner's voice commands, without touching the screen. This feature will be possible thanks to the update of the App Intents framework. Apple is already conducting experiments with services such as Uber, YouTube, Amazon, Facebook, WhatsApp, Threads, Temu, etc.
How it will work:
Siri can be asked to find a photo, edit it, and send it to a contact, or comment on a post on a social network, or add a product to the shopping cart. Siri will analyse the content of the screen and will not depend on changes to the interface of a particular application.
Security and delays:
The technology is still at the testing stage. Due to the complexity and the need for reliable processing of personal data, Apple will limit voice control in sensitive applications. The new Siri was supposed to be released earlier, but due to the difficulties with App Intents algorithms and the desire to preserve privacy, the launch was postponed to iOS 26.
Bottom line:
Apple is striving to turn Siri into a full-fledged voice assistant - one that controls applications under your sensitive voice guidance. This breakthrough is possible thanks to the new App Intents API and Apple Intelligence. Very soon, we will live in the future and communicate with technology in a natural language.
