Samsung patented an unusual design of an almost oval folding smartphone (renders)

Samsung's vast patent portfolio has been replenished - the company has registered a patent for the design of a folding phone called Samsung Galaxy Flip Retro. The smartphone has distinctly rounded contours that bring it closer to an oval when unfolded. The end of the smartphone also has a pronounced roundness.

The Neume resource, together with xleaks7, made a rendering of the smartphone based on these patent drawings to assess what a real device with this design might look like. The design is unusual and will definitely attract attention. If the smartphone also gets, for example, pastel colours or specific body materials (wood, leather, etc.), then such a design model can really look like a retro device with a technological filling.

The existence of a patent does not mean that Samsung will release a commercial model. It only means that Samsung wants to protect its idea. Even if such a smartphone is produced, it may become an ornament of a technical exhibition and not go on sale. But on the other hand, it might go on sale...
