The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra electric sedan, which recently became the fastest production electric car at the Nürburgring, has shown that it can not only drive fast, but also glide spectacularly in a controlled skid. The new Gymkhana-inspired video shows spectacular drifts worthy of Ken Block's best works.

Here's What We Know

The filming took place in the home of the Xiaomi brand in China. The bright-yellow SU7 Ultra, prepared for the show, received a hydraulic handbrake, which allows you to quickly lock the rear wheels and take the car into a skid. Formula Drift competitor Ye Zhicheng was behind the wheel.

In the video, the electric sedan slides inches away from kerbs and obstacles, and the most spectacular scene is a figure-eight between two moving limousines. The 1,526bhp of power is more than enough to envelop the venue in thick tyre smoke.

Towards the end, the SU7 Ultra, along with a modified Toyota 86, takes to the mountain road in a drift. The petrol-powered coupe overheats and goes off the track, while the Xiaomi continues the race. The video impressed the company's management so much that founder Lei Jun personally shared it on social media.
